All of a Kind Family
The all of a kind family is Mama, Papa
and five Jewish sisters named Ella, Henny, Sarah, Charlotte and Gertie. They are called an all of a kind family because they are
dressed alike and act alike. The all of
a kind family lives in the early 1900s. One
time, their Mama had them dust puts buttons in places so if they dust well they
will find twelve buttons. On the Sabbath they eat a special dinner, they say
prayers and they cannot strike any light on the Sabbath. The girls love the Sabbath so much that they
read books until the candle runs low.
Then one day their Papa’s friend gets married to the library lady and
they both go away. Although the girls
are happy for them they cant help missing them.
Then they get the biggest surprise of all. Their Mama has a baby and it is a boy! At
first Gertie is not happy but in the end she is very happy.
